Editorial & Evidence Policy

We aim to give KOTAMON players accurate, useful, and honest information. This page explains how we source content and what we do when we are uncertain.

Source hierarchy

  1. Official sources — developer posts, the Steam store page, patch notes, and official trailers.
  2. Observable retail footage — gameplay recorded from the released or publicly available build, with context.
  3. Established guides and reviews — reputable publications with clear sourcing.
  4. Community discussions — used for demand, recurring symptoms, and candidate workarounds, not as proof of universal mechanics.

What we do not do

  • We do not invent card stats, drop rates, coordinates, or prices.
  • We do not use beta footage to describe retail mechanics.
  • We do not copy official artwork, screenshots, or card illustrations.
  • We do not turn a single Reddit complaint into a universal fact.
  • We do not publish video-only pages; every guide must be readable without playing an embed.

How we handle uncertainty

When a value or mechanic is not confirmed, we label it "unknown," "not visible in public footage," or "community-reported." We prefer an honest gap over a fabricated detail.
